V3LOC1TY It was good up until the end. Why did he do the things he did. CAN HE NOT CHANGE LANES? WHY CAN'T HE DRIVE Rated 1.5/5 Stars • Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/24 Full Review matthias s While the concept of time travel and its consequences is intriguing, the execution in this movie falls short. The biggest flaw in "The Butterfly Effect 2" is the lack of good choices made by the characters. Nick's decisions seem haphazard and impulsive, which makes it difficult to sympathize with his character or invest in the story. The film also suffers from a convoluted plot that jumps between alternate timelines and causes confusion for the viewer. The pacing is uneven, with slow stretches of exposition followed by abrupt and rushed scenes.Additionally, the performances by the cast, while being okay-ish do not elevate the material. Eric Lively as Nick Larson is adequate but doesn't have the charisma or emotional depth needed to carry the film."The Butterfly Effect 2" is a disappointing sequel that fails to capture the magic of the original. The film's central idea of how our choices can affect the course of our lives and the lives of those around us is an interesting one, but the execution leaves much to be desired. If you're a fan of the first movie, you may want to skip this. Last 20 minutes was utterly unbearable. Rated 1/5 Stars • Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Oh-kaaaay... zero intrigue whatsoever, really pointless. No heart, no soul, just a rehashed shell of the ideas of the predecessor. Rated 1/5 Stars • Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member The 2nd butterfly effect gets off to a wobbly start with its final destination car wreck that Lively jumps back in time to evade. We never find out why he has the ability to look at pictures and poof into a different life. But with all the possibilities, this movie hits all the lame expected ones.
